Brave New World 2

1. How do you think Lenina can develop feelings for John when they aren't supposed to have feelings or emotions at all?
- I think Lenina does not actually like John in that way. John is a savage and he has become extremely  famous because of who he is. I think she has just become a bit starstruck with his fame. He is like a celebrity and she is like a fan. I don't think that the relationship will prosper.

2. Do you think that a person or group could get away with a revolt, or is the government too absolute and powerful?
- Nobody could ever revolt because nobody wants too. people take Soma to be happy, so they never question society. Nobody would ever think of revolt, and if they did, everyone else would have no clue what they are talking about. When showing the people the room where they teach kids in their sleep the director said, " till at last the child's mind is these suggestions, and the sum of the suggestions is the child's mind"(31). This shows that children and beyond are told what to think, so they can be taught to never think against the society.

3.How does the World State treat people like source of profit?

- These people are created to be a certain way and do certain things in life. The World State creates the exact kind of person needed. Everyone can have a job and work toward the greater good. Basically, these people are made to do some sort of task or be a certain way in order to contribute to society. People are just seen as a way to further advance, and not real human beings.
