Cookoo Questions

1. Why does Chief have to be the one to kill McMurphy? Why not the Big Nurse?
I think that Chief wants McMurphy to have to last laugh over Big Nurse, so Chief finishes off the job before the Big Nurse can.

2. What was the reason for including Billy's mother as a part of the story, and what does this do to his character?
I think Billy's mother is included to show the power of the Big Nurse. She knows Billy's mother very well, and that scares Billy. This proves that the Big Nurse knows everything about all the men personal lives, which is a scary thought. This also makes Billy seem weaker because he is afraid of what his mom will think.

3. What is the significance of the title?
If one were to fly over something, you would only what is under you for just a brief second. So, this is just a brief snapshot into the lives of the men in the ward, and what really goes on in there. There are so many other stories about other wards too, so this is just a quick trio inside one of them.

4. What about McMurphy makes him relate able?
He is relate able because of the fact that he isn't mentally ill, but still wants the best for the patients. However, he has flaws, so we can understand why he would be the protagonist. We understand him.
